HARTLAND — A resident of the 2700 block of Drum Road told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies that a Jennings semi-automatic .22LR pistol taken from his residence at an unknown date and time was recovered by the Niagara Falls Police Department.
The man told patrol that specific firearm is not one that he uses often, and can't remember looking for it within the last year. Further, he said that he did not know the firearm was missing until he was contacted by NFPD regarding its recovery. He said it is kept in a locked box, separate from other firearms, and now cannot find the key to the lock box since learning that the firearm had been taken from the residence without his knowledge.
The Hartland man said he believes whoever took the firearm, may have also taken the key to the lock box so that he did not have access to it, but he was able to shake the lock box and confirm that it was empty.
Sheriff's deputies contacted NFPD and were told that the firearm was recovered from the residence of Dartanyon T. Robinson during a probation check.
Patrol advised the complainant that a report would be on file with NCSO, and that the case would be forwarded to CIB for possible further investigation.

TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Kinne Road woman told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies Thursday that someone pierced her garage door with a bullet on Tuesday.
It appears that a high-powered rifle was shot from somewhere in the 13 acres of woods behind the residence, according to the NCSO report. The bullet went through the metal garage man door, struck a plastic sawhorse leg and came to rest in an unknown location. Patrol searched the garage and was unable to locate the bullet.
Patrol told the woman to contact the Sheriff's Office if any suspicious persons were seen or heard in the woods behind her residence.

ENP STAFF REPORTS

U.S. Marshalls are on the look out for a man they say is a suspect in several shootings in the Lockport area.
The suspect, 19-year-old Shamir W. Allen, aka "DuWop," also has active warrants in the Town of Niagara for several violent felonies. He is described as 152 pounds, 5-foot, 10-inches tall with brown eyes and brown hair.
According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, Allen has two active warrants for his arrest, both issued July 22. Those warrants list a Charlotte, N.C. home address.
Law enforcement agents warn Allen should be considered dangerous.
Wednesday, the U.S. Marshall's office lead raids on two Lockport homes — one on Willow Street and the other on North Transit Street — searching for a suspect on a warrant.
Lockport Police Capt. Brian Wentland said that Allen was the target in those searches. He was reluctant to refer to Allen as a suspect, however, but did say he is a "person of interest" in a number of shootings.
There have been approximately a dozen shootings in and around the city this year, including one LPD has no doubt Allen was involved in — as the victim. That happened on June 9 when police were called to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport to talk with a man who had been shot in the leg. The victim — Allen — refused to tell police where he had been shot or who shot him.
Wentland said Allen is well known to the police department, having been arrested four times in 2013 and once this year.
Officials from the Greater Buffalo Metropolitan Crime Stoppers have offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to Allen's arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call 867-6161.
