The Lockport Express Junior A hockey team will have a very familiar opponent during their Hockey Day in Lockport game on Nov. 28 -- The Lockport Express Junior A hockey team.

Head Coach Frank Vecchio said the team was trying to plan an exhibition match against players of the Roc City Royals and the Southern Tier Diesel, but they were unable to get enough from the two squads due to it being a holiday weekend. Instead, the Junior A Express and 18U Express will hold an exhibition game of their own -- similar to when the Buffalo Sabres have blue & gold games in pre-season.

The Express scrimmage is slated to take center ice on the main rink at Cornerstone Arena at 7 p.m., following the LHS Varsity game against Notre Dame of Batavia.

Hockey Day in Lockport will be comprised of six hockey games, a figure skating showcase, a free Learn-to-Skate program, free family skating, and plenty of off-ice activities, all beginning with a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m.

East Niagara Radio will broadcast live from Cornerstone Arena throughout the day and ENP contributors will serve as masters of ceremony during some of the day's events. East Niagara Post is the official media sponsor of Hockey Day in Lockport.
