ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
More residents in the same neighborhood as the Sunnyside Street homeowners who lost power now find themselves in the same situation.
According to NYSEG, all 17 Sunnyside Street homeowners are now without power -- it was only 16 of 17 before. In addition, 26 homes on Bacon Street, 32 homes on Prospect Street and three addresses on Windsor Street are without electricity.
The utility company now says power should be restored by 10 p.m.
No power outages have been reported in East Niagara aside from the 78 in the city, but the National Weather Service says the worst of the wind is yet to hit us. Gusts of up to 60 mph are still expected this evening and overnight in the Lockport area, meaning more tree limbs are expected to fall and even more power outages are expected to occur.
The high wind warning put into effect by the National Weather Service remains in effect until 1 p.m. Friday.
East Niagara Post is the official media sponsor of Hockey Day in Lockport.
