While hockey is obviously the focus of "Hockey Day in Lockport," organizers wanted to take the opportunity to showcase every facet of Cornerstone Community Federal Credit Union Arena.

As such, one event during the day is the "Figure Skating Showcase of the Stars." The portion of the day geared more towards Salchows, Lutzes, and Axels than goals, assists and body checks, will take place on NHL Rink 2 from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.

It is being organized by Cornerstone Arena Figure Skating Director Dawn Ahlers.

"Figure skaters in Lockport know that we have the community's love of hockey to thank for the beautiful ice arena so we are always looking for opportunities to share what we can do with hockey fans," said. figure skater Kristin Riemer. "Our spins, jumps and glittering dresses are perhaps the icing on the cake."
