POTSDAM — Nearly 250 SUNY Potsdam students completed internship placements at companies, non-profits or campus departments in Spring 2015, including Sarah Pevey from Lockport, who interned with the SUNY Potsdam English & Communication Department in Potsdam.
SUNY Potsdam's internship program places students with employers whose interests align with their studies. Each student intern has a faculty sponsor, and earns between 1 and 12 credits toward their degree requirements for successfully completion of the internship.
The SUNY Potsdam Experiential Education Office is dedicated to helping students reach their full potential. For more information, visit http://www.potsdam.edu/support/ssc/eeo/internships.

POTSDAM — Three East Niagara students were recently named to the President's List by the State University of New York at Potsdam.
The students were among 907 students the university recognized for academic excellence in the Spring 2015 semester. The SUNY Potsdam students were honored for earning top marks by President Kristin G. Esterberg.
Local students included:
To achieve the honor of being on the President's List, each student must have satisfactorily completed 12 numerically-graded semester hours, with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

POTSDAM — Kurtis Parker of Middleport was recently named to the President's List at The State University of New York at Potsdam.
Parker, whose major is Music Education, was among 925 SUNY Potsdam students who were honored for academic excellence in the Fall 2014 semester. College President Dr. Kristin G. Esterberg recognized the students for earning top marks.
To achieve the honor of being on the President's List, each student must have satisfactorily completed 12 numerically-graded semester hours, with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
The school also named two area students to its Dean's List. The pair are Brandon Burgess of Middleport, whose major is Music Education, and Sarah Pevey of Lockport, who is majoring in English and Creative Writing.

POTSDAM — The State University of New York at Potsdam has awarded scholarships, grants and awards to 998 students for the 2014-15 academic year, including two from Middleport. These accomplished SUNY Potsdam undergraduate and graduate students were recognized for their achievements with support for their educational experience.
This year's recipients included:

The accepted students include Kayla Montroy of Lockport, who is set to graduate from Lockport High School.
The group of incoming first-year students hail from across New York State and beyond. SUNY Potsdam's Class of 2018 will begin classes in August 2014.

Jennifer Cascia of Lockport was one of 158 students from the State University of New York at Potsdam to recently be awarded their baccalaureate and master's degrees.
Cascia earned a degree in Childhood/Early Childhood Education in December.
