POTSDAM — The State University of New York at Potsdam recognized two East Niagara residents among the more than 900 candidates for graduation during the College's 2014 Commencement celebrations. At Commencement, SUNY Potsdam honors students who have either earned their degree or are eligible to graduate during that calendar year.

Founded in 1816, and located on the outskirts of the Adirondack Park, The State University of New York at Potsdam is one of America's first 50 colleges. SUNY Potsdam currently enrolls approximately 4,350 undergraduate and graduate students. Home to the world-renowned Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam is known for its handcrafted education, challenging liberal arts and sciences core, excellence in teacher training and leadership in the performing and visual arts.

- Eric Equils of Barker, graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Music Education.
- David Freundschuh of Lockport, graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Archaeological Studies.
