TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 27-year-old Town of Lockport woman was charged Saturday with having contraband in the Niagara County Jail.

According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, Rodella M. Watterson, 1110 Lockwood Dr., was found to have two white pills and some white crushed powder substance in her jail cell.

Police found that the pills were Trazodone. Upon interviewing Watterson, she admitted to bringing about 20 pills into the jail with her. She said she had already consumed an unknown amount of them.

Patrol said she appeared to be under the influence of drugs so she was transported to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport for a medical evaluation. Patrol took custody of the pills and powder and secured them at NCSO.

While Watterson was at the hospital, a warrant was obtained from the Town of Lockport Court to charge her with promoting prison contraband.
