Lockport Police Lt. Sal Licata was injured during the arrest of an East Avenue man Wednesday evening.
According to the arrest report, Jason M. Degnan, 37, 417 East Ave., lower apartment, had smashed a woman’s face into a car window. When police arrived to take the report, he refused to comply with officers’ directions and had to be subdued with pepper spray.
During the struggle, Lt. Licata’s right arm was injured, requiring treatment at Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport.
Degnan was charged with second-degree harassment, second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, and resisting arrest. He is due in City Court on Monday.
