John C. Woods Jr., 67, of Lockport NY passed away Thursday March 31st after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Mary Louise (Panty) Woods, who fought by his side every step of the way.
John was born in Buffalo, NY on June 15, 1948. He was the son of the late John C. Woods and Emelia (Jezioro) Woods. John grew up in Buffalo, NY, graduating from Cardinal O’Hara High School in 1967. He continued his studies at LSU Monroe, University at Buffalo and the prestigious FBI Academy. John retired from the University at Buffalo Police department after working there for 33 years. John began his career as a patrolman and retired as the Assistant Chief of Police. Together, John and Mary Louise have three children and three grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf with his good friends at Oak Run Golf Club. He also enjoyed being with his three granddaughters who loved their “boppa” more than anything.
Besides his wife, Mary Louise, John leaves his daughter Kathleen (Robert) Locke of Derry NH, his son John C. Woods III of Wilson NY; and his daughter Elizabeth (fiance’ Matt Talarico) Woods of Buffalo, NY; three granddaughters Charlotte, Chloe and Lilah Locke; a sister Janet Harrison of Davis, CA; many cousins and very good friends, and of course, his dog Lucy.
Family will be available to receive friends Monday April 4th, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street in Lockport, NY. A funeral mass will take place at 10:00 am Tuesday April 5th, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Church, 168 Chestnut Street in Lockport, NY. All are welcome to attend.

Josephine D. Brown passed away Thursday March 31, 2016 in Niagara Hospice House.
Born in Lockport on November 15, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Josephine Merlo D’Auria. Josephine worked at Harrison Radiator in production, she was a life member of St. Joseph’s RC Church. After she retired, Josephine enjoyed traveling, walking along the towpath on the Erie Canal, and most importantly, spending time with her family who loved her very much and will miss her deeply. Josephine is predeceased by her husband, Michael Brown, who passed away November 3, 1997.
Josephine was the loving mother of Bob (Margaret) Brown, Michael (Susan) Brown, Joseph Brown, Diane (Thomas) Sansone and Debra (David) Bernardi; Nana Jo of 13 and great grandmother of 23. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Josephine is predeceased by her siblings, John, Salvatore, Joseph, Michael and Lena D’Auria, Mary Machelski, Genevieve Nocera and Connie Kasprazak.
Friends may call Sunday April 3rd from 1-5 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday April 4th at 10 AM at All Saints Parish Oratory, 391 Market St., Lockport. Entombment will be in Glenwood Mausoleum. Jennie L. Palladino Dunning passed away on Tuesday March 29, 2016.
Born in Emporium, PA., on March 9, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Francesca Troncone. Jennie was a self-employed beautician for over 50 years. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, BINGO, going to the casino and going to church at All Saints RC Church, where she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. Jennie is predecease by her husbands, Harry Palladino, who passed away in 1971, and Richard Dunning, who passed away in 2003.
Jennie was the mother of Richard (Sharon) Palladino, James (Sharon) Palladino, Joanna (Don) Avjean, Michael (Debra) Palladino and the late Sharon Archie; grandmother of Michael Palladino, Ashley Hudson, Nick Viverito, Amanda Garcia, Andrea Siracusano, Emily Prokhorenko, James M. Palladino, Eloise Updegraph, Randy Palladino and Deanne Polanin; great grandmother of 11. Jennie was the sister of Steven Troncone and James Troncone. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Jennie is predeceased by her 7 sisters.

Rodney H. Covell passed away March 28, 2016 in the Odd Fellow Rebekah Health Care Facility.
Born October 3, 1930 in Lockport, he was the son of Edward and Dorothy Pless Covell. Rodney served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict before he started his banking career with the Liberty Bank in Buffalo. He retired after several years in 1996. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the B. Leo Dolan Post American Legion and enjoyed golfing and playing cards with many of his friends.
Rodney was the husband of the late Marilyn L. (Mente) Covell who passed away February 22, 2009; brother of Paul E. (Margaret) Covell, Peter E. (Janice) Covell, both of Lockport and the late Robert H. Covell. He is also survived by his sister in law Ida Covell, Philip and Arlene Marshrey of Reno, NV his dear friend Nancy Lyons and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday April 3, 2016 from 3 to 7 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport where services will be held Monday April 4, 2016 at 11 AM. Ronald H. Golding passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday March 27, 2016 in ECMC, Buffalo.
Born in Lockport on January 21, 1941, he was the son of the late George H. and Evelyn P. Schultz Golding. He served in the US Army from 1963 until 1965. Ronald was the President of George H. Golding Trucking, Inc., Lock City Trucking and Lock City Leasing. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling and boating.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Eileen (nee Trautman) Golding; father of Mark (Tracey) Golding, Michelle (Bryan) Ababurko and the late Cheryl Golding, who passed away April 20, 1990. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ryan and Jillian Golding and Emma Ababurko. Ronald is predeceased by his sisters, Judith Cercone and Sharon Golding.

Lillian W. Slate passed away March 21, 2016 I the Odd Fellow Rebekah Rehab and Healthcare Facility.
Lillian was born October 6, 1931 in Camden, NY, the daughter of William H. and Lillian P. Walker. She enjoyed being a homemaker and working in her garden.
Lillian was pre-deceased by her husband Robert S. Slate on February 22, 2006. She is survived by her daughter Gayle A. Chamberlin; was the step mother of L. Robin Slate and Leslie Jacquelyn Allgeier; and the sister of Nancy McGowan of Westchester, PA.

Frances L. Earl passed away Sunday March 20, 2016.
Born in Royalton on April 2, 1924, she was the daughter of the late William and Mina Brigham Webster. Frances worked at Gi-Ro Dry Cleaning for many years, and enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking and spending time with her family. She is predeceased by her husbands, Lester Reabold, who passed away in 1962 and Lawrence Earl, who passed away in 2013.
Frances was the mother of William (Barbara) Reabold of Burt, Susan (Greg) Verdun of Pontiac, Il. And the late Audrey Reabold Cronk; grandmother of Charles Reabold, Andrew (Kerry) Reabold, Christina (Todd) Troutman, Sarah (Brent) Harms, Robert Verdun, Maureen (Francis) Koziolek, William (Kerry) Gross and the late William Reabold Jr.; she is also survived by several great grandchildren. Frances was the sister of Adah Durgan and the late John Webster and Charles Webster.

Isabelle M. Bauer passed away Saturday March 12, 2016 in Odd Fellows and Rebekah Health Care Facility. Born in Lockport on December 16, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Allan and Flora Sims Widrig. She worked as a cashier for A & P Grocery, which later was known as Super Duper, in Lockport. Isabelle took great pride in the fact that she was able to see 5 generations in her family, and loved spending time with all of them. She was predeceased by her husband, Wesley Bauer and her sister, Marie Widrig.
Mother of Yvonne Moran, Eugene Collette, Karen (Brant) Quinton, Bruce (Linda) Bauer, Brian (Kathy) Bauer, Douglas Bauer and the late Lawrence Collette. Grandmother of Joseph Moran, Kim (Robert) Kudel, Michael (Linda) Collette, Lorriann (Charles) Conte, Eric (Carrie) Collette, James (Meggan) Rath, David Rath, Molly McDuff, Rebecca (Matthew) Ritz, Andrew (Karen Louis) Bauer and the late Brian Collette; great grandmother of 15, great great grandmother of 13, with one due in June of 2016. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and her dear friends, Jack Rath and Karen Collette.

Margaret “Marge” Schomers |
Margaret “Marge” Schomers passed away March 10, 2016 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport, NY. Marge was born September 8, 1928 in Lockport, NY. She was the daughter of the late Vincent and Margaret Cathcart Lardner. Marge graduated from the University of Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science Degree as a Clinical Pathology Technician. She started her career at Lockport Memorial Hospital and retired from Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in 1991. Marge was the longtime director of the Lockport Duplicate Bridge game held at the Dale Association where she also taught bridge as part of the community education program. She earned the Silver Life Master level of the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL). She was awarded the Duncan Nixon Memorial Award for her volunteer service at the Dale Association where she also volunteered her services as a tax preparer. She received the Kenan Center Volunteer Recognition Award for her years as a member and treasurer of the Kenan Arts Council. Marge also enjoyed traveling Europe with her late husband, William J. Schomers who passed away July 14, 2003.
Marge was the mother of Mark W. Schomers of Elizabeth City, NC, Patricia (Robert) Russell of Lockport, Diane Marie Taillon of Wisconsin and the late Michael Schomers; grandmother of David and Brian Russell, Stafford and Elliot Taillon and Charlize Schomers. Marge is also survived by her sister Shirley (the late Duane) Murdock of Lockport, brothers Vincent (Mary Kay) Lardner of Albuquerque, N.M.,and Martin (Joan) Lardner of Gasport, N.Y., her daughter-in-law Jennifer Schomers of Toronto, Canada and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Monday March 21, 2016 at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport, NY. Arthur Elroy Sherman,
A retired City of Lockport Fireman, Arthur Elroy Sherman passed away March 10, 2016 in Bradenton, Fl., after a long illness. Born in Maskell, Nebraska on April, 27, 1934, to Wayne and Edna Sherman, he moved to the Lockport Area in 1941. He joined the US Navy in 1952, serving on the Aircraft Carriers, including the USS Antietam during the Korean War. He returned home where he married Patricia (Fiegl) Sherman. They celebrated 60 years of marriage in November 2015.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children William (Robin) Sherman of Sun City Center, FL., Angela Tomczak, Debra (Rick) Ellis, Kevin (Renee Cavagnaro) Sherman and Angela (Dominick) Farina, all of Lockport, and Alycia Sherman of Bradenton, FL.; he is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arthur was the brother of Adrian (Judy) Sherman of Lockport, Grace (AJ) McGraw of Newfane and Darlene Vautrin of Clayton, NY. He is predeceased by his brother, Gerald (Margaret) Sherman.
Arthur was a member of the Knights of Columbus #319 and the 4th Degree Assembly #754, serving with the Color Corp. He also enjoyed reunions with his fellow shipmates on the USS Antietam.

Dianne K. Sullivan passed away Monday March 7, 2016 in ECMC, Buffalo. Born in Lockport on December 24, 1956, she was the daughter of the late John Sullivan and Hazel Beals Sullivan.
Dianne enjoyed reading, watching movies and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Dianne was the mother of Jennifer Kuhn, Stephanie Sherman, Nicole (Dennis) Wakelam and the late Jarrod Edmister; grandmother of Mark, Nicholas and Larry Bruning, Mark Tyler and Noah McPhail, Benjamin Sherman, Abigail and Charlotte Wakelam; great grandmother of Giana Grace Bruning. Dianne was the sister of Molly Sullivan, Michael Sullivan, Jon (Tamsin) Sullivan, Tina (Brian) Harden, Seana Sullivan, Kelly Sullivan and the late Michele Sullivan and Lisa Jones. Dennis R. Reeb |
Dennis R. Reeb, 61, passed away on March 6, 2016. He was born on January 12, 1955 in Buffalo, NY. He was the son of the late Edward and Margaret (McMullen) Reeb.
Dennis worked for over 20 years as a Security Guard for Securitas in Kenmore, NY. He loved to make people laugh with his good sense of humor and sarcastic wit. He cherished his two dogs Maggie and Hoppy. Dennis is survived by his wife Sherry (Fitzner) Reeb; his son; Dennis (Heather) Reeb, Jr., his step-children; Crystal (Robert) Jasinski and Joseph (Amber Conrad) Lane; he was a brother to Edward (Pam) Reeb, Pat (Anita) Reeb, James Reeb and the late Patricia and Nancy. Also survived by four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Fitzsimmons, Norene M.
Norene M. Fitzsimmons entered into rest on Feb.29, 2016 at the Odd Fellows and Rebekah Nursing Home. Born June 15, 1922, to Charles and Mabel (Nestletree) Nablo in Wilson, NY. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Donald W. Mulvey and James M. Fitzsimmons and a sister N. Arleta (James) Brady. Norene spent post WWII years with her husband and children in Frankfurt, Germany where she made many lifelong friendships. Her many accomplishments and interests included entertaining, cooking, traveling, knitting, sewing and gardening.
Norene is survived by her children Michael (Kathleen) Mulvey, Candace (Milt) Wrona, Tim C. (Mary Ellen) Mulvey, Julie (Peter) Kruszynski, and Elizabeth (Les) Barnes; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Robert H. Kiff, Jr. passed away February 18, 2016 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport.
Born in July 25, 1945 in Lockport he was the son of Robert and Patricia (Layer) Kiff, Sr. Robert served the Army Reserve 98th from 1966 to 1971 where he was a Staff Sargent. He worked for Delphi for 34 years retiring in 2001 and was a carrier for Lockport Memorial Hospital. Robert was an exempt member of South Lockport Fire Company, volunteered for Relay for Life and enjoyed camping, line dancing, and NASCAR.
Robert is survived by his wife Ruth Ann (Livingston) Kiff of Lockport; father of Matthew (Marcia) Kiff, Michael Kiff, Marjorie (Frank Ott) Kish, and Amy (Joe Noeson) Kiff; step-father of Stacey (Mike Kubiak) Pettitt and Sherilyn Glaser; grandfather of fifteen and great grandfather of six; brother of the late Raymond Kiff and Katherine (Patrick) Summers; brother-in-law of Joseph (Hazel) Livingston; several nieces and nephews.
No prior visitation. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 27th at 1 PM in First English Lutheran Church, Locust St., Lockport. Donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.

Michael L. Morley, 53 of Niagara Falls passed away on February 24, 2016.

David “Bernie” R. Forsyth, 61 of Central Square, died Sunday at University Hospital after a long illness. “Bernie” was self-employed as a fund raiser for local Law Enforcement and Businesses. He was also involved with the CSRBI baseball league for many years. He was pre-deceased by his parents, John and Mary Forsyth, his brother, Thomas Forsyth and his nephews Jared Forsyth and William Reabold Jr.
David was a beloved father to his sons, Alex and Nash Forsyth and is also survived by his longtime companion, Kim Blaine; his four sisters, Linda Gargalano, Becky Forsyth, Ellen (Marc) Watkins and Amy (Lou) Juliano; his brother, John (Judy) Forsyth. He was the nephew of Betty Anderson and Bill and Diane Britt. He is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews and 19 great nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Sunday March 6th 1-4 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, Inc., 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. In lieu of flowers, contributions in David's name may be made to Strong Memorial Hospital, Solid Organ Transplant, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, NY, 14642.

Doris P Fabian passed away on February 24, 2016 at the home of her daughter, Mary Anne ( and Scott ) Cleveland in Wichita, KS. Doris was born to Henry Pless and Ana ( Rensing ) Pless on July 30, 1927 in Lockport. She graduated from Felt and Tarrant Business School and worked for General Motors in Lockport for 34 years until retiring in 1982.
Doris married Felix J. Fabian on June 29, 1946. They were married for over 50 years until his death on August 13, 1996. Doris was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served on the Alter Guild and Bazaar Committee. Her hobbies included travel, golf, reading, cooking and managing investments.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Mary Anne Cleveland ( Scott ), granddaughter, Deidre L, Cleveland, nieces Ruth Green and Linda Carlin ( Tom ), great nephew Joseph Green, great niece Jennifer Green Striffler ( Scott ), and great great nephew Nicholas Striffler,
Doris was deeply saddened by the passing of her longtime friend and companion of 19 years, James H. Castle on February 2, 2016.
Funeral services will be held on March 8, 2016 at 11am in Trinity Lutheran Church, 67 Saxton St, Lockport, N.Y. 14094. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery following the service. Memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church, Abiding Memorial Fund or to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 South Market St, Wichita, KS 67218 would be appreciated.

Diana L. Harris passed away Wednesday February 24, 2016, after brief battle with Lung Cancer.
Born in Lockport on August 9, 1961, she was the daughter of Carol (Gary) Werth and the late Victor Moore, Jr. Diana was a dearly beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and niece. Diana’s favorite time of year was Christmas Time when her family would come together for the holidays.
Beside her mother, Diana is survived by her children Jill Laforme and Brian (Adele) Harris; her grandchildren, Tyler Laforme, Aden Harris and Emily Harris. Diana is also survived by her companion, Michael Reale, her brother Victor (Amanda) Moore, sister Terry (Richard) Wolfe, and her grandmother Stella Moore, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Sunday Feb. 28th 1-5 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, Inc., 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will be held Monday Feb. 29th at 10 AM. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorials to the Diana Harris Cancer Benefit Party, payable to Brian Harris, 6843 Hatter Road, Newfane, NY 14108, would be appreciated by the family.

February 23,2016, beloved husband of Geraldine Dziama, loving father of Nicholas (Nichole) and Michael (Danielle), brother of Maria (Ted) Szymanski, Paul (Jovy) Dziama, Helena Davis, and sister-in-law Ellen DeForest, passed away peaceful at his home.

Robert H. Kiff, Jr. passed away February 18, 2016 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport.
Born in July 25, 1945 in Lockport he was the son of Robert and Patricia (Layer) Kiff, Sr. Robert served the Army Reserve 98th from 1966 to 1971 where he was a Staff Sargent. He worked for Delphi for 34 years retiring in 2001 and was a carrier for Lockport Memorial Hospital. Robert was an exempt member of South Lockport Fire Company, volunteered for Relay for Life and enjoyed camping, line dancing, and NASCAR.
Robert is survived by his wife Ruth Ann (Livingston) Kiff of Lockport; father of Matthew (Marcia) Kiff, Michael Kiff, Marjorie (Frank Ott) Kish, and Amy (Joe Noeson) Kiff; step-father of Stacey (Mike Kubiak) Pettitt and Sherilyn Glaser; grandfather of fifteen and great grandfather of six; brother of the late Raymond Kiff and Katherine (Patrick) Summers; brother-in-law of Joseph (Hazel) Livingston; several nieces and nephews.
No prior visitation. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 27th at 1 PM in First English Lutheran Church, Locust St., Lockport. Donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
