Donald F. Butcher passed away January 21, 2016 in Odd Fellow & Rebekah Rehab & Health Care Center.

Born in Buffalo on December 28, 1920 he was the son of Carl E. and Helen (Sipson) Butcher. Donald worked for Harrison Radiator for 41 years retiring in 1980 as a Design Supervisor. While working for General Motors Don also worked in Europe with John DeLorean. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, auto racing at Watkins Glen, boating, going to his cottage on Keuka Lake, and acquired his pilot license. Don also enjoyed traveling all over Europe, the Caribbean, Mexico and Hawaii. He will be remembered as being a family man, always taking care of his family and spending time with his family.

Don is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Shirley (Compton) Butcher of Lockport, whom he married May 31, 1946; loving father of Andrea Lee (Dr. Nelson) Klyver, Bonnie Sue (Thomas) Czechowski, Stephen Ellsworth (Cindy) Butcher, and Dr. Elizabeth Anne (Roger) Micoli; cherished grandfather of Christopher (Heather) Butcher, Gretchen (Tom) Fullerton, David Michael, Eric (Lisa) Michael, Sheri (Stephen) DeHaan, late Stacey (Matthew) Micoli-Daniels II, Alan (Amber) Micoli, and Bryant Butcher; step-grandfather of Erik, Mark, and Amy; great grandfather of four; brother of Geraldine Sharp and late Ellsworth Butcher, Emmajean Moran, Marjorie Myers; also several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday, Jan. 24th from 2-4 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where services will immediately follow at 4 PM. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery. Memorial donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
