TOWN OF LOCKPORT -- The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office and Walmart on South Transit Road teamed up for the 4th annual "Shop with a Cop" event, pairing children with deputies, who travel with them to Walmart in a patrol car to shop for gifts for themselves and or family members.
Once their shopping was complete, both deputies and Walmart staff assisted in wrapping the purchased gifts while the children were treated to lunch.
Sheriff Jim Voutour said, “This annual event is all about the children and building a positive relationship with both them and their families. The deputies who participated in this event volunteer their time and look forward to it every year. We are also grateful for the staff at the Lockport Walmart and the continuous support they provide to make this event a success."
The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office received a Community Grant from the Walmart Foundation which allows for the purchase of gift cards for the children to use while they shop.
