James C. Conley, Sr. passed away December 8, 2015 in Niagara Hospice House. Born in Lockport on March 5, 1923 he was the son of Leo and Gladys (Ames) Conley. James was a graduate from Lockport High School and served in the US Army from 1943 to 1946 being awarded the American Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and WW II Victory medal. He worked at Harrison Radiator as a machine repairman retiring after 30 years. James was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed golfing and playing cribbage.
James is survived by his wife Alma Conley of Lockport; father of James C. (Maureen) Conley, Jr. of Lockport, Douglas (Rosemary) Conley of East Amherst, Patricia (Donald) Kaufman of Lockport, and Paul (Carol) Rooney of Florida; grandfather of fifteen and great grandfather of ten; brother of Richard Conley of Lockport, Patricia Mahar of Oregon and late Leo Conley, Robert Conley, John Conley, AnnaLouise Wolf, and Burnetta Killion; brother-in-law of Rosemary Conley; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, December 14th from 4-8 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, December 15th at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery. Memorial donations to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated.
