The Lockport Police Department has released the name of the deceased male found this morning on a sidewalk on Waterman Street.
Police say the deceased is Donald M. Shaw, 41, of Lockport.
According to LPD Chief Larry Eggert, there is not currently any reason to suspect foul play but the incident is being is being handled as a crime.
"We always start by treating everything as a crime scene," Eggert said. "So it's being treated as a crime scene."
Police were called to the scene around 8:39 a.m. after someone walking by discovered Shaw's body on the ground on Waterman Street near Orchard Street.
Police withheld Shaw's name until family could be notified. An autopsy is being done on the body.
