Derek J. Burgler
Two Lockport men were charged Thursday as a result of a shooting incident on the city's east end and the ensuing investigation.

Lockport Police charged Derek J Burgler, 21, with first-degree attempted assault, two counts of reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon. Also charged was Brain M Morrow, 25, 493 Walnut St. He was charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana.

Police say Burgler approached Morrow's home on Walnut Street and an altercation took place in which time Burgler struck Morrow's home and a car with bullets. A brief car chase ensued between the two with additional shots fired. No one was hit as a result of the gun fire.

The pair then got out of their cars and ran northbound from Walnut Street, police say. They were found by patrol and taken to LPD for questioning. A female suspect was detained at the scene and also taken to LPD.

During the investigation a search warrant was executed at Morrow's Walnut Street home where a large quantity of suspected marijuana was found and confiscated.

The investigation is ongoing.

  1. Reckless endangerment was the best they could charge him with? It's funny how anyone but a law officer can discharge their weapon with no regard for anyone or anything and not be charged other than this. These individuals put many people in danger and thankfully no innocent people were injured or killed.
Niagara County needs to concentrate more on ground zero in Lockport. Residents of Lockport need to follow this case very closely. The scum of Lockport are taking over.
