A pair of Newfane who decided to go for a walk raised $10,000 for Lockport CARES homeless shelter.
Seventy-one-year-old Margaret Brant and 53-year-old Ruthy Warda made the trek to Albany from Lockport to raise money and awareness for the plight of the local homeless, changing despair into hope.
The money raised will help ensure a warm safe shelter for the homeless in Lockport in the coming dark cold winter months.
