TOWN OF ROYALTON — A 37-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman were charged by New York State Police with identity theft and grand larceny.
According to NYSP, Daniel L. Gonzales and Molly A. Heiser opened a credit card in an former acquaintance's name. Both Gonzales and Heiser used the unauthorized card to make purchases for over $2,000.
Gonzales was arrested and processed on Friday, arraigned in the Town of Lockport Court and remanded to Niagara County Jail on no bail. He is scheduled to appear at the Town of Royalton Court on Tuesday. Heiser was arrested on Saturday and arraigned in the Town of Royalton Court. She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to re-appear on Oct. 8.
