Mary Margaret D’Auria passed away after a short illness, June 19, 2015 in Niagara Hospice.
Born in Lockport, New York on May 18, 1937, she was the daughter of Henry and Winifred (Judd) Sherriff, and the wife of Samuel J. D’Auria. She was a long time employee of the former AM&A’s Department Store, where she served as manager of the Flower Mart. She stayed on for several years after AM&A’S was purchased by Bon-Ton, and at her retirement was a manager of their Ready to Wear Department. Mary enjoyed gardening, reading, cross stitch and painting. She loved her role as housewife, mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend to many. Mary was a deeply religious Catholic and gave countless hours in service to her church and to myriad civic causes.
Mary is survived by her children, Anthony (Lynn) D’Auria, Thomas D’Auria, Therese (the late James Kendziora) D’Auria and Tonya (Richard) Neumann; grandmother of Katrina (Aaron) Mondragon, Tonya Faye Ingram, Alexandra D’Auria, Marnyssa Reed, Tyler D’Auria, Brayden D’Auria, Alexia Neumann and Nalea Neumann; in addition to several great grandchldren, her sister Elizabeth “Sis” (Ed) Taylor and nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, June 24th from 2-4 & 7-9PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home 242 Genesee St. Lockport, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday June 25th at 10AM in All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport, NY. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. The family encourages donations in her name to Niagara Hospice 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY 14094.
