ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
Nearly three dozen businesses, community groups and individuals have kicked in so far to help make the nine-day Lockport Sesquicentennial Celebration a reality.
Working only off private donations, the Lockport Sesquicentennial Celebration Committee has planned and promoted over 100 events from June 27 - July 5 — with dozens more to be added to reach a total of 150 events over the nine days.
The celebration is bookended with a pair of longtime Lockport favorites — opening June 27 with the Downtown Arts & Crafts Festival and concluding July 5 with the 15th annual Taste of Lockport (and a Guinness World Record attempt). In between are other favorites including the annual July 4 parade and fireworks. But also included will be a July 4 community celebration, sporting events, tours, concerts, Lockport Restaurant Days and more.
To help fund those events, the committee is having special Lockport 150 banners created with the names of individuals, groups or businesses. The $150 single-sided banners will be hung along Main Street throughout the summer.
Those who have purchased banners so far include:
ABH, Byrne Insurance
Bling!
Canalside Sandwich Shop
Capelli Salon

Hair Chateau
