John Lewis Adams passed away May 24, 2015 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport.  Born in Alba, Alabama on March 21, 1950 he was the son of John F. and Mattie (Jones) Adams. He served in the US Army from 1974 to 1976 being awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the First Award Marksman M-16. He worked for the past 43 years for GMCH where he was a supervisor and enjoyed all sports, playing basketball and also did commentary for the football and basketball games on WLVL.

John is survived by his wife Maria (Martinez) Adams of Lockport; father of John L. Adams, Jr. of Lockport, Derrick Polk of Brookline, MA, John L. Adams, Antonio (Wendy) Adams, and Anitra Adams all of Atlanta, GA; also several grandchildren.  He is also the brother of Diane Dew of Tuscaloosa, AL, Gloria (Luther) Adams Baker of South Orange, NJ, Jeffrey (Faaedaa) Adams of Niagara Falls, NY, Angela (Isaac) Sims of Winston-Salem, NC, Kenny Adams of Pueblo, CO, Pamela Devaughn Warner of Robbins, GA, and late Jerry Adams; son-in-law of Maria G. Pica; brother-in-law of Pedro (Patty) Martinez, Augustin (Margarita) Martinez, Orlando (Laurie) Martinez, David (Grabiella) Martinez, Robert (Sheila) Martinez, Isreal (Amanda) Martinez, Luis (Sheila) Martinez, and George (Emily) Martinez, Daisy (Victor) Rondon, and Nina Pica; also several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Friday, May 29th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 30th at 9 AM in Mt. Erie Baptist Church, 1152 Fairfield Ave, Niagara Falls where there will be visitation from 8-8:55 AM. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery.
