Lockport firefighters attend to a tree fire on Briarwood Drive. The small fire
was caused by the wind.
Wind whipped through East Niagara today, taking out trees and power lines in its path of destruction.

Emergency and utility crews were busy all afternoon tending the damage caused by Mother Nature.

Pockets of NYSEG and National Grid customers remain without power. For those without electricity, there isn't even an estimated restore time yet. In the City of Lockport, NYSEG customers on Cottage and High streets, as well as Lincoln Avenue are without power. Nearly 400 National Grid customers are without power in Middleport, while 35 are without power in Wrights Corners and a handful have no electricity in Hartland.
