Kristie Anne Upton passed away February 28, 2015 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst.

Born in Newfane on February 25, 1978 she is the daughter of Melody (Mike Gardepe) Pearce of Lockport and George (Robin) Upton of Sanborn. Kristie was a 1996 graduate of Newfane High School being awarded three Presidential Academic Achievement Awards and the Teacher’s Association Scholarship, and was a member of Who’s Who High School, and National Honor Society. She then went on to college and received two associate degrees from Niagara County Community College in Liberal Arts of Humanities and Social Sciences and Criminal Justice earning the Distinguished Student Scholarship. Kristie worked for Univera Health Care in Williamsville since 2009 where she was on Team Lead. She served as the Awards Chairperson for Boy Scouts Pack 47. Kristie was a huge Buffalo Bills and Ransomville Speedway fan, spending many Friday nights there with her son. She also enjoyed boating, with her mother and step-father and spending afternoons at Grass Island, watching beautiful sunsets on the Niagara River. She also enjoyed country music, but most of all, she treasured the time that she spent with her son and her family and friends.

Besides her parents Kristie is also survived by her beloved son Michael G. Prosser; step-sister of Shannon (Jason Manhke) Dent, Meghann (Joshua) Fiegel, Mitchell Gardepe and Kristen Lewandowski; she is also survived by the father of her son Jean (Kristi) Prosser and their children Tyler, Tanner, and Elizabeth Prosser; her uncle, William Pearce and his children Nicholas (Heidi) Pearce, Shane (Sara) Pearce and Michelle Ramsey and several other Uncles, Aunts and cousins. Kristie’s beautiful smile and laughter will be deeply missed by all that had the privilege and pleasure to know her.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, March 5th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  Funeral services will be held Friday, March 6th in the Exley United Methodist Church, 338 Lake Street, Wilson, NY 14172, at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Melody Pearce as Trustee for Michael G. Prosser, c/o M & T Bank, 118 Walnut Street, Lockport, NY 14094, would be appreciated by the family.
