A preliminary round for the Niagara/Orleans Idol will be held beginning at 9 p.m. at Brad Angelo Lanes.
The first 20 contestants to register will compete with three going to the finals to be held March 6 at The Forvm in Buffalo. Each contestant will sing one song and be judged on five categories. The top six will sing another song to decide the evening's top three winners.
Entrance for tonight's competition is $10 and is limited to those aged 16 and over. Entrants will choose to sing from songs provided by Johnston's DJ Services.
Other prelimary rounds will be held Saturday at the Medina Theater, Feb. 27 at the Dugout Bar and Sports Complex, and Feb. 28 at the Mug & Musket Tavern in Youngstown. In all, 12 finalists will compete against each other to be named the 2015 Niagara/Orleans Idol.

First prize is $500. Second is $250. Third is $150. Also returning this year is the People's Choice award where the audience decides which of the 12 finalists they think should win. The People's Choice winner is awarded $100.
