The Lockport High School Foundation is seeking nominations for it 9th Annual Distinguished Alumni Ceremony to be held Aug. 20 at the high school.
Nominees must have graduated at least 10 years ago and demonstrated excellence in his or her chosen field, outstanding contributions to humanity, and outstanding service to his or her community or profession. Awards are not given posthumously.
Nominees will be judged on his/her strength in each of those areas, so nominators are asked to provide as much information as possible. Written statements or other helpful documents, such as resumes or newspaper clippings to the nominating form may be attached to the nominating form.
Nominating forms can be picked up in the main office at LHS, 250 Lincoln Ave., Lockport; or by calling 478-4452; or on the school website at www.lockportschools.net.
Deadline for nominating a graduate is April 17. Completed forms can be dropped off at the high school, mailed, or emailed to Principal Frank Movalli at fmovalli@lockportschools.net.
To date, 83 high school graduates have been chosen as Distinguished Alumni since the award’s inception in 2007. The chosen alumni have come from all walks in life, but have gotten their formal education at Lockport High School.
