ENP STAFF REPORTS

TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Lockport man was killed late Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash on the William Gregory Bypass.
According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, 24-year-old Christopher Meden was driving a 2006 Dodge Dakota south bound on the bypass when, for an unknown reason, it crossed the center line, striking a north bound 2012 International Harvester truck operated by 29-year-old Daniel Shisler of East Bethany.
When patrol arrived on the scene Meden's Dodge Dakota was on fire but was being extinguished by use of a fire extinguisher by a passerby. Meden was deceased at the scene.
Shisler was transported to Erie County Medical Center by Mercy Flight for treatment of head, neck, and chest injuries.
Niagara County Hazmat responded due to a large diesel and oil spill. Also responding were South Lockport and Terry's Corners fire companies, Rural Metro and Twin City ambulance companies.
The investigation is continuing by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office.
