Enjoying their great swims are, from left,  Mattie Hylkema, Meghan
Mietlicki and Zack Santarsiero.
The Lockport YMCA Stingrays, in only their third Meet of the season, continue to see seconds fall off their best times as more swimmers put up State qualifying swims.

Jessica Sacco led the way with State times and first place finishes in all three of her events (50 Free, 100 Free, and 100 Back).  Mark Crocker and Sam Murphy went 1-2 respectively with State qualifying times in the 50-yard Free, and Laurel Creamer punched her ticket to State's with a personal best in the 25-yard Backstroke.

Luke Menges continued his domination in the pool for the Stingrays with first-place finishes in all three of his events (200 Free, 100 Free, and 50 Breast), and upped his total to five New York State qualifications with his time in the 200. Older brother Ethan Menges has been shredding seconds off his times, dropping 35 seconds over the last two meets in the 200 Free, and putting up a personal best in the 100 Free. Mattie Hylkema was welcomed back after a 4 year hiatus from the Y with two best times in the 50 & 100 Free. Other first-place finishes include Ryan Santarsiero (50 Free and 50 Back), Gina Artieri (500 Free), Ava Thompson (25 Breast), and Ava Conklin (50 Free).

Coach Tim Menges was also impressed with other swimmers speeding to personal best times.

"At this point in the season it is very exciting to see so many swimmers working hard and finding their rhythym as they improve upon their strokes," he said. "All of this hard work is starting to show itself in the great times being posted on the board."

Henry Genewick posted his best times in all three of his events (25 Free, 50 Free and 25 Back). Others with personal bests include: Zackary Santarsiero (50 Free), Chris Ulrich (50 Free and 100 Free), and Madison Fragale (50 Breast). First-time Stingray swimmer, Savannah Pencille, contributed with a strong leg in the 200 IM Relay.

The Stingrays are next in the water on Nov. 15 with a home meet at 1 p.m. at the Lockport High School pool.
