ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
The Niagara Arts Guild’s monthly meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Dale Association, 33 Ontario St.
The group's guest this month is George V. Miller, who has had the benefit of travel to Europe and India over the years and has been drawn to the Old World of art and architecture.
"It seems to me an age of refinement not appreciated today," he said. "One must research the subject to be expressed as well as several preliminary drawings prior to putting brush to canvas.
Miller's works unfold over a span of three to six months. The process is an education with each new painting. He teaches advanced art classes in oil with this old-world method of painting at several locations in Western New York and has won many awards and has his works in Belgium, Hungary, India, Puerto Rico and several states in this country.
The Niagara Arts Guild’s goal is to bring artists of all media types together to meet, network and inspire. The Guild meets on the third Friday of each month from September through June.
The guild holds two juried shows each year. All artistic media is welcome and the group is always accepting new members.
