Kyle Fiegel
The coach of the Newfane JV football team was charged Monday with sex crimes and endangering the welfare of a child, according to New York State Police.

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation charged Kyle T. Fiegel, 27, of Akron with two counts of second-degree rape, one count of second degree criminal sexual act and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child following an investigation by the State Police, who had received information that Fiegel had sexual relations with a person less than 15 years of age. The incidents occurred on multiple occasions in the Town of Royalton.

Documents on Newfane's website showing Fiegel as coach of the JV team have since been taken down. However, Maxpreps.com, a high school sports website, lists him as coach of the JV team for the 2014-2015 season. Fiegel was also reportedly a substitute for the district.

District officials could not be reached for comment at this hour.

Fiegel was arraigned in the Town of Lockport Court and has been remanded to the Niagara County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Royalton Court on Nov. 18.
