ENP STAFF REPORTS

TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Dayton Street man was charged early Sunday morning with driving while intoxicating and Niagara County Sheriff's deputies stopped him on Robinson Road for a traffic infraction.
Stacey S. Smith, 27, 51 Dayton St., was stopped for driving with no tail lights around 12:46 a.m. When patrol interviewed him, he said he was driving without a license because it had been suspended for a DWI infraction. A NYS DMV check showed that Smith had seven suspensions with four on three dates.
As patrol was interviewing Smith, he was determined to be intoxicated, however, Smith refused the chemical test to determine the presence of alcohol.
His vehicle was towed and Smith was held on $750 bail in the Niagara County Jail, charged with DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation, and the tail light violation. He is slated to be in Town of Lockport Court on Thursday.
