TOWN OF LOCKPORT — Niagara County Sheriff's deputies were called to an Ernest Road home Monday evening for an aggravated harassment claim.

When they arrived, the58-year-old homeowner told them that a 33-year-old Newfane man had threatened to "beat his ass" over the phone during a conversation. The complainant said the Newfane man had built a barn for him but the barn roof was not installed properly. He said stated he sent a text message to the contractor telling him to "be a man" and fix the roof right. The contractor then called him back and they had a verbal confrontation over the phone, during which the contractor stated he was going to "beat his ass."

Patrol contacted the Newfane man who stated he did not feel he owed the homeowner anything and that he did state to him that he would "beat his ass" if the customer did not leave him alone. He said the comment was made in the heat of the moment during the argument.

Patrol contacted the homeowner after speaking with the contractor and advised him of the conversation. The Ernest Road man said he just wants his barn roof fixed properly to which patrol advised him to take the man to civil court for the roof as that is a civil issue.
