ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
team website.
"Due to unforeseen issues with the compressor system at the rink, we have been forced to cancel the October 18th Home Opener," the site says. "It has been rescheduled and we apologize for any inconvenience. Please watch our site for updates. Thank you!"
The next scheduled home game for the Lockport Junior A hockey team is Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. against the Syracuse Stampede.
There is no word on when the game that was to be played Saturday at 7 p.m. — against the Roc City Royals — will be rescheduled to.
Originally, the Express was to play all their home games at Cornerstone Arena, but delays in construction forced the team to play a home game in Batavia and two at Niagara University. Saturday's game was to be the team's first true home game in front of Lockport fans.
