ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
Police continue to look for a suspect in a robbery-at-knife-point that occurred around 9:51 p.m. Thursday at Family Video, 76 East Ave.
According to Lockport Police Detective Captain Brian Wentland, the suspect is a slender black male about six feet tall. He was wearing a gray hoodie and a blue mask over his face. The mask had white around the eyes.
The man went into the store, pointed a knife at the clerk, took the money and fled on foot.
"We used a bloodhound from the sheriff's department to run some scent trails," Wentland said. Those came up empty, though.
Police did arrest one man, however, while looking for the robbery suspect.
Joshua D. Cooney, 26, 111 Elmwood, was charged with resisting arrest. Officers observed him on Evans Street shortly after the robbery and he ran. Patrol chased him and found him behind a house on Washburn Street.
