ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
NEWFANE — A Newfane student's $700 bike was stolen from Newfane Middle School overnight Friday.
According to a report filed with the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, the student had ridden the bike to Newfane Middle School Friday evening to catch the bus for a football game, locking the bike with a combination cable lock to a chain link fence surrounding the football field. After returning from the game, he got a ride home from his mother and waited to pick the bike up in the morning.
Upon returning to the school Saturday morning, the bike had been taken. He stated that the fence was not cut, nor the combination cable lock that secured the bike.
Patrol will follow up with Newfane Middle School during the coming week since the school has video cameras present on the grounds.
