APPLETON — A man sent by M&T bank to winterize a vacant home on Hartland Road on Saturday found that the home had been ransacked.
The man told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies that electrical wiring, plumbing lines, gas lines, a hot water tank and a wood stove were all removed from the home since his business was last at the home in April.
He said that the front door was open but did not show any signs of forced entry.
Patrol spoke with a neighbor who stated that he has seen numerous people at the residence since it was vacated. He said that many of the people on location have been contractors for the bank, performing various jobs.
The case is considered closed pending further information.
