TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Candlewood Drive resident told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies this morning that someone removed the small front door on his mailbox.
The apparent theft occurred sometime between 10 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday. The same incident also occurred in July, but he did not report it.
He told patrol that the mailbox was not damaged, and it will cost approximately $10 to replace the part.
It didn't appear other mailboxes in the neighborhood were affected, he said. He appeared to be the only victim.
The investigation is closed.
