ENP STAFF REPORTS

TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Ruhlman Road juvenile was apprehended by Niagara County Sheriff's deputies early Wednesday morning after fleeing in a stolen car.
According to the NCSO report, the owner of the car noticed it missing around 3:15 a.m. and called patrol, telling them he believed the juvenile took it, as he has done so before.
While interviewing the owner, a White Pontiac Grand Am drove into the apartment complex past patrol. Patrol asked the owner if that was his vehicle and he said that it was. The vehicle, upon seeing patrol, continued south into the complex, then west and finally north. The vehicle exited onto Ruhlman Road and passed patrol at a high rate of speed traveling east toward South Transit Street.
Patrol pulled behind the vehicle, activated all of the patrol car's emergency equipment and gave pursuit to the vehicle. The vehicle refused to stop for patrol and as it approached the intersection of Ruhlman Road and South Transit Street it continued through a steady red light in a reckless manner and crossed over South Transit Street. The vehicle continued east into a driveway for a apartment complex on the east side of South Transit Street. Finally the vehicle stopped behind 564 South Transit Street, where the juvenile was ordered out of the car and he was detained.
Patrol searched the handcuffed juvenile and he was placed in the rear seat of the patrol car and transported to another Ruhlman Road address, where he was turned over to his mother.
The vehicle was picked up by the owner and the juvenile is due in probation on Tuesday to answer to charges of grand larceny, unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, and criminal possession of stolen property.
