TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Niagara Falls woman is facing drug and contraband charges after corrections officers at the Niagara County Jail said she snuck marijuana into the jail for her boyfriend.
Nicole Marie McDougall, 23, 4600 Hyde Park Blvd., Apt. 61, is accused of passing balloons with marijuana in them to her boyfriend around 7 p.m. Thursday while she was visiting him at the jail.
According to the police report, jail officials found the drugs when they performed a strip search of inmate Javon Ellison after his visit with McDougall. A corrections officer discovered a balloon in Ellison's underwear that contained several smaller balloons wrapped tightly around a green leafy substance.
Officers then questions McDougall, who admitted that she brought the green leafy substance into the Niagara County Jail and passed it to Ellison.
McDougall was charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband and unlawful possession of marijuana. She was arraigned at Town of Lockport Court and returned to the jail, where she was held on $2,500 bail. She is to return to town court on Thursday.
