TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Niagara Falls man was charged late Monday night with introducing contraband into the Niagara County Jail and unlawful possession of marijuana.
According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office report, a corrections officer found marijuana on Shaquor Toney, 21, 440 9th St., Niagara Falls, during a strip search. The officer said that at approximately 10:10 p.m., he was conducting a strip search on Toney in the H-block when he observed a small plastic object in between the inmate's buttocks. Toney was being non-compliant and attempted to push the item into his body, according to the report.
Toney was given multiple orders to stop, and OC spray was administered, after which Toney threw the object and then struggled with the officers. The object is described as a small plastic baggie containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana. The item was turned into property management and will be forwarded to the NCSO Laboratory for testing.
Toney was transported to the Town of Lockport Court for arraignment and then remanded back to the Niagara County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail. He was to return to court today.
