OSWEGO — More than 1,450 students began their college careers as freshmen at SUNY Oswego Monday, including two from East Niagara.

• Breanne Beightol of Wick Road in Lockport is a graduate of Newfane High School.
• Jessica L. O'Connor of Beverly Avenue in Lockport is a graduate of Lockport High School.

A 153-year-old comprehensive college in the State University of New York system, Oswego enrolls about 8,000 students in its College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; School of Business; School of Communication, Media and the Arts; and School of Education.
