TOWN OF LOCKPORT — An anonymous phone call to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office on Saturday said that a woman on her way to meet with deputies was carrying drugs and drug paraphernalia. When she showed up to meet with them, she was arrested on drug charges.
A report filed by NCSO states that Mellissa A. Walker, 25, 3963 Orangeport Road, Gasport, showed up at the Sheriff's office around 3:30 p.m. Saturday to speak with deputies. After she was done talking with them, patrol then advised her of the anonymous tip and asked for consent to search the vehicle for the drugs and hypodermic needle, which she granted.
Patrol began searching her vehicle and discovered a hypodermic instrument in the roadside emergency kit as the anonymous caller had stated. They also found a half of an identified narcotic pill in her pocket, which she told them was half of an Opana.
Walker was taken into custody at 4 p.m. for criminal possession of a controlled substance and for criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument. She is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lockport Court on Thursday.
The seized unidentified narcotic pill and hypodermic instrument were turned into the Niagara County Forensic Lab for testing.
