ENP STAFF REPORTS

TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Woodlands resident had a stolen bike returned Thursday thanks to some help from a friend and the Niagara County Sheriff's Office.
According to a report filed by NCSO, the woman told patrol that the $800 bike had been stolen on June 17 but a friend noticed it for sale on an online yard sale website. When the woman checked the website, she believed her friend was correct, although the bike had different tires and a new paint job.
Patrol went to the Lockport home where the bike was listed for sale and, while attempting to make contact with the resident there, noticed a storage unit on the side of her building. The door to the unit was open and patrol saw a bike matching the one in the picture. Patrol had the serial number to the bike and verified that it was the complainant's bicycle. The bike was returned to its owner.
