Tonight's Lockport Rampage game against the Buffalo Gladiators will have a very unique offering for a semi-pro football game — a former World Wrestling Federation wrestler.

While Brutus "the Barber" Beefcake isn't expected to suit up, he will be at the game and players from both teams should be on their best behavior, or they could just be subject to an unrequested haircut, like the wrestler used to give his opponents after matches. He is also expected to sign autographs for fans.

Rampage team president, Roland Davis, said the special guest is actually being brought to the game — and an after party at the Lockport Pub — by the head coach of the other team.

"The coach of the other team, John Augustine is good friends with a bunch of those guys," Davis said this morning by phone.

Maybe the star power is a peace offering. The game between the two teams last week ended early due to on-field shenanigans. Davis said there's no bad blood, though. The teams met during the week and "hopefully settled the differences and it should be a clean game."

While attendance for the year has been good, he's hoping that the wrestler's appearance will add to tonight's total, as tonight's game is a charity game, raising money for WNY Challenger Sports.

"The focus for this game is doing the right thing for the charity and raising as much money as possible," Davis said.

The Rampage are undefeated so far this season and Davis says he understands that they've been ranked 7th in the northeast and 19th in the country among semi-pro teams.

Tonight's game starts at 7 p.m. at Outwater Park's Exchange Field.
