TOWN OF LOCKPORT — An 18-year-old Pine Street man was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and an open container violation after a traffic stop early Thursday morning.
According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office report, patrol observed a vehicle driven by Tracy R. Maracle-Pitrello, 409 Pine St., traveling westbound on Lincoln Avenue with no plate lamp around 1:27 a.m. Upon approaching the vehicle, patrol observed a green glass pipe with burned suspected marijuana in it on the floor board in plain view behind the front passenger seat.
Maracle-Pitrello admitted to patrol that the pipe was used for marijuana, and that there was additional marijuana in a clear plastic bag inside the black leather case, which was next to the pipe. The pipe and the marihuana were recovered from the vehicle, along with an alcoholic beverage which was in an aluminum thermos container in the pocket behind the front passenger seat.
Maracle-Pitrello was charged with the unlawful possession of marijuana, having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle, and the plate lamp equipment violation. He was released on an appearance ticket to the Town of Lockport Court on Aug. 14. The suspected marihuana was submitted to the Niagara County Forensic Laboratory for confirmation of weight and substance.
