TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Clarence man was charged with DWI and other traffic infractions after a motor vehicle accident Wednesday evening on South Transit Road.
According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office arrest report, John D'Andrea II, 54, 9375 Wolcott Road, Clarence, was in a motor vehicle collision in front of 6511 South Transit Road shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday. During the investigation of the collision, patrol detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from D'Andrea.
After failing field sobriety tests, D'Andrea was placed in custody on charges of driving while intoxicated, following too close, and operating a motor vehicle without an inspection sticker. He was transported to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office where he was found to have a .13 blood alcohol content. He was then taken to the Niagara County Jail and held on $250 bail.
He was due is to appear in the Town of Lockport Court Thursday.
