Lockport Police are investigating an incident that occurred shortly after midnight outside of the Niagara Hotel.
LPD and LFD were dispatched to the bar at the corner of Niagara and North Transit streets for the report of a man with unknown injuries. He was transported to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport.
Eyewitnesses say a man was jumped by several people in front of the bar. The assailants then fled the area, but not before several people got the license plate of the vehicle.

So I am wondering, why this place is even allowed to continue business. Its the worst place in all of Lockport, were seeing shootings, stabbings, fights, and dealing with a complete annoyance and disregard for the neighborhood. Why doesn't the paper or anyone step up and say enough is enough? How many more people have to get hurt in our neighborhood before people stand up and say this place has to go?
ReplyDeleteIf you shut down every business where someone gets assaulted, lockport would be a ghost town. One man's dangerous annoyance is another man's favorite watering hole. As long as people gather, there will be incidents. We employ a police force to handle it, we don't go blaming the owners of whatever business the incident was nearest. What do you want to happen? If you close the niagara and a new bar opens there, are you expecting different behavior? Or do you just want all bars to close? I would suggest more bouncers, rather than more bureaucratic intrusion.
