news@eastniagarapost.com
Fire departments from Youngtown to Barker were called to help in searching the Lake Ontario shoreline this morning to find missing boater, John Supple of Lewiston.
Specifically, assistance was requested of the Barker, Cambria, Hartland, Miller Hose, Ransomville, South Wilson, Wrights Corners, and Youngstown fire companies. The Wilson and Olcott fire companies were already assisting the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Coast Guard, NYS Park Police and Canadian Authorities with the search.
Supple launched on Wednesday out of Wilson Tuscarora State Park and was last seen at approximately 3 p.m. northeast of the Wilson pier. The 60-year-old was operating a 16 foot Starcraft boat, camouflage in color.
Anyone with information or anyone who has seen Mr. Supple or this craft, is asked to contact the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office at 438-3393.
