A South Lockport Fire Company volunteer attends to the
accident scene on Snyder Drive this afternoon.

Niagara County Sheriff's deputies were unsure why the southbound driver went off the west side of the road, slamming into the power poll. Deputies said there was no skid marks or any signs of the vehicle trying to stop or serve to avoid the pole.
NCSO Deputy Paul Harrer handled the call while South Lockport Volunteer Fire Company, under the direction of Chief Tim Glaser, responded with their EMS and fire units providing care to the patient and securing the car.
NYSEG was called to the scene to fix the cracked power pole.
No further information is available on the status or identity of the driver.
