TOWN OF LOCKPORT — Child Protective Services were called on a Town of Lockport woman after Niagara County Sheriff's deputies say her seven-year-old son was locked out of their Dysinger Road apartment for about two hours.

According to the report filed by NCSO, patrol was dispatched to 6491 Dysinger Road, Apt. 16 shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday when an anonymous caller reported that a seven-year-old male had been locked out of apartment 16 and he had been knocking on the door for over an hour with no luck.

When patrol arrived, they found the seven-year-old boy unharmed in the hallway of the third floor playing Monopoly on the floor with some kids who live across the hallway. The boy stated that his mom and step dad were inside of the apartment but the door was locked and no one was answering.

After patrol knocked on the door of Apartment 16 for about 15 minutes, 52-year-old Robert Garcia finally answered the door. He said that he and the boy's mother, Shannon Marinaccio, were sleeping in the bedroom and did not hear anyone knocking. Garcia said that the boy was to have gone to a friend's apartment and was supposed to be back by 8:30 p.m. Patrol explained to Garcia that the boy was back at 8:00 p.m. but was locked out.

Patrol and and a New York State Trooper spoke at length with Garcia and Marinaccio about the seriousness of the situation and the lack of proper supervision for the seven-year-old, and advised them that Child Protective Services was going to be contacted. CPS told patrol they would send a local representative to speak with Garcia and Marinaccio.
