An inmate at the Niagara County Jail was charged this evening with with criminal possession of a controlled substance and introducing contraband into prison.
According to a report filed by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, Justin Wittcop, 32, of Haseley Road in Gasport, was found in possession of one unopened package of fentanyl patches, one open package of fentanyl patches, and one used fentanyl patch while he was being searched at around 5:45 p.m.
The report said the fentanyl patches were seized by patrol and were to be turned over to the Niagara County Lab. Wittcop was arraigned in the Town of Lockport Court and is scheduled to return on April 17. He was then returned back to Niagara County Jail and held on $1,000 bail.
