The Buffalo Bisons only needed the first inning to score more runs than the Rochester Red Wings scored all game this afternoon at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo.

The Bisons won the season-opening game 6-3.

The first-inning scoring began with a single by Matt Tuiasosopo. Dan Johnson then earned a walk and Andy LaRoche batted Tuiasosopo in with a single to right field. Chris Getz hit a blooper down the left field line, bringing Johnson in from second. Mike Nickeas rounded the first-inning scoring out with a two-run single to centerfield for the 4-0 advantage.

The Bisons added another run in the second inning when Anthony Gose doubled and then scored. Gose added another run in the sixth when he singled and was then driven in on Tuiasosopo's third hit of the game.
