There is no longer any impact to motorists in the area of the New York Power Authority Robert Moses Plant. The incident has been cleared by fire crews, the Sheriff's Office said in a release.
There had been an explosion at the plant shortly after 7 p.m., followed by a fire, which was attended to by Upper Mountain, Niagara Active, Lewiston No. 1, Sanborn and Air Base fire departments.
The Sheriff's Office had asked that motorists use alternate routes to avoid the Robert Moses Parkway across the face of the power plant.
